Camera bag is worth the price August 4, 2010 Sandy A. (Michigan, USA) This is a great bag- fits my canon rebel and has room for an extra lens. I bought it for two reasons. One: it wasn't huge like most camera bags for larger cameras seem to be, and two: it has a covering attached to it that is waterproof so I don't have to worry about whether it will start to rain while I am in the middle of the woods. I have been wearing it daily for 3 mile hikes and it is fairly comfortable although it squeaks while I walk (haven't figured out how to get that to stop, but mustn't be too loud because I came up quite close to a deer the other day before he heard me). It fits my small stainless steel waterbottle in the side pocket and has enough little compartments for things you might need when using a larger camera.
My only complaint is I can't angle the camera in the bag so I can grab it out easily when I come across something I want to photograph. Just a minor thing like the squeak- used to being able to reach in and grab it by the side grip and not have to flip it right side up.
All in all I hated to spend so much on a camera bag, but I think it was worth the cost.
Oh, I bought the chestnut brown which looks a bit green in the photo- as other people have said it is a light tan/brown color not the green when you get it.
Compact and handy July 22, 2010 Aaron (Az, USA) Fits a Canon Rebel Xsi with 17-85mm lens on it and fits the kit lens/50mm prime lens inside the main compartment. Velcro dividers are helpful. 3 filters go into the pouches on the cover. Place for SD cards and remote shutter release cable. And even after all this, couple of small pouches are empty.
Awesome feature: rain proof cover that saved my camera and lens more than once.
Belt is convenient.
Durable feel to it.
Cons: the inside space is a tight fit, a little extra space like 0.5 cm would have been better.
Great Bag July 5, 2010 Hillery Sheppard (SUN CITY, CA, US) As with all lowpro products I found this to be the perfect bag. I brought this bag to keep my dslr in and it's a great fit with room for an extra lens and goodies.
Good but not quite great May 9, 2010 V. Johnson (Brookville, OH USA!) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Terrific little bag, VERY well made, etc. But it could stand to be just a bit larger. Advertised as able to hold a DSLR and two lenses. I have my Pentax K2000 plus an extra lens and a small flash unit -- and it's a bit of a sqeeze. Also, at least on my computer, the bag appears a sage green. It's actually a very nice tannish-bronze color. Good looking bag, just a bit small.
Lowepro Nova 160 Camera Bag March 26, 2010 Ventura D (Southern CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is my second Nova 160 bag--the first one (bought 10 years ago) is still going strong, but I needed a second. This bag is convenient in all the right ways. I have used this when backpacking. The small loops on the top rear of the bag allow it to be hung with carabiners from D rings on my pack straps so that the bag rides on my lower chest. This allows quick and convenient access when the wonderful vistas appear.
The older bag dated from the film camera era and had pocket designs to match (e.g., a removable film pouch for the front zippered pocket). The major difference with the new bag is pocket layout. The front pocket is somewhat smaller, and there is some reduction in volume from the folded all-weather cover which tucks under the front flap. The inside top pocket is also smaller, but the outside top flap pocket more than makes up for it. I can't easily fit the SD cards or CF cards (in their protective cases) into the inside card pockets, but they can be forced in or out. The zippered pocket at the back is the same as in the earlier model, and convenient for your camera guide and for stowing other flat documents. The all-weather cover is a newer and valuable feature.
Outside attachment points are well designed: shoulder strap attachments (strap is included with the bag), belt loop attachments (belt sold separately: check your local backpacking store for cheap wide nylon straps and fasteners) and the top loops at the back for front mounting the bag to your pack straps.
You can easily stow a digital SLR with mounted lens, one additional small to medium sized lens, two screw-on filters, and maybe your battery charger and cord (with tight packing).
